Field Engineer
JOB PROFILE
The Field Engineer is responsible for optimizing clients’ networks through proactive support and service. This includes developing and maintaining an intimate knowledge of network environments, hardware and software inventories, configuration management, assisting with project design and implementation, and proactive onsite services. This is a client facing role and requires a high level of professionalism and exceptional interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Basic Requirements:
- Proven track record of being a problem solver and team player capable of working in a technically-challenging environment
A minimum of 3 years direct network field experience with expertise in configuration and troubleshooting, including: DNS/DHCP Support
- PC, Server and SAN Support
- Cisco Router, Switch, and Firewall Support
- Virtualization tools (VMware is a plus)
- Windows, IIS and SQL server administration
- Configuring and troubleshooting email services including SMTP, POP, IMAP, Exchange
- Server-class hardware including RAID hardware
Preferred Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, MIS, ISQS
- Current technical certifications with one or more of the following companies: Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft, VMware, ShoreTel
