OKMH Joins the Ranks of Companies That Donate to Nonprofits

We were thrilled when Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital (OKMH) in Kenedy, Texas, won our Mandry CARES giveaway at the THIE Hot Topics forum in San Antonio! Mandry CARES is how we achieve our goal of joining the community of companies that donate to nonprofits, and it lets us bring our friends with us! We donate to charity on behalf of other organizations, based on who they choose to support. It’s a great way to learn about a diverse set of worthy causes and why they’re important to people who are important to us.

With a 24-hour emergency department and more than 200 healthcare professionals, OKMH has been providing medical treatment to the people of Karnes County for more than 40 years. Similarly to Hill Country Memorial in Fredericksburg, Texas, our Mandry CARES giveaway winner at the THT Healthcare Governance Conference last summer, OKMH wanted to use the donation to support its own non-profit foundation. The OKMH Foundation is a group of volunteers that connects the hospital to the Karnes County community. These volunteers help run the hospital gift shop and perform other fundraising activities that directly benefit OKMH. The foundation uses a portion of each year’s budget to provide grants to local families to help with medical expenses and to provide scholarships to local high school graduates who plan to pursue healthcare careers.

As one grateful recipient of a medical assistance grant stated in a thank-you note to the foundation, “You always come through and bless us just when we think we can’t keep our heads above water much longer. God bless each and every person affiliated with this committee for all you do! We are forever grateful and constantly humbled by your constant support/relief financially.”

Mandry was honored to be able to play a role in funding one of these grants. We know OKMH and its foundation will continue to selflessly serve its community for years to come, and it is a privilege to share in their mission.
