The Lindsey Horton Memorial Scholarship Fund (LHM) aims to provide college scholarships to students from Andrews County, Texas, who are pursuing medical degrees. Lindsey Horton was a resident of Andrews herself and was a Registered Nurse at Permian Regional Medical Center. The Andrews community showed an exceptional amount of love after Lindsey’s tragic passing, inspiring her family to continue her legacy both within her hometown and within her profession through LHM.

LHM was adopted in January 2021 and held its first annual golf tournament in May 2021. The goal for the year is to award at least two $10,000 scholarships. Through an outpouring of love and support, the organization has surpassed its fundraising target.

Lindsey’s father, Jim Horton, is the CEO at Rankin County Hospital District and a respected member of the Texas medical community. When we conducted our Mandry CARES™ giveaway at the TORCH spring conference, winner Adam Willmann, CEO of Goodall-Witcher Healthcare, easily selected LHM as his charity of choice.

“My wife and I had the opportunity to meet Lindsey,” said Willmann, “and at that moment, we knew she was special. It means the world to us to keep her light and legacy bright through this memorial. There is no better mission than to help other young and caring individuals meet their goals of becoming part of the rural health industry, a mission many rural hospitals need help with as well.”

What Is TORCH

TORCH, or the Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals, is a tight-knit group of people and organizations that work together to serve the needs of rural and community hospitals throughout Texas.

Along with nearly 20 years of experience as an information technology service provider, many of our team members have previous experience in the healthcare industry. Our HCISPP®, CISSP®, AICPA SOC, and MSPAlliance® Cyber Verify™ certifications along with HIPAA secure and HIPPA compliance experience make us uniquely positioned to manage and protect healthcare technology infrastructure. With this distinctive combination of certifications and credentials, we are proud to be a corporate member of TORCH.

What Is Mandry CARES

We care deeply about causes like LHM that directly impact the communities we live in and serve. In fact, one of our core values is to serve selflessly by providing for the needs of others before our own. Mandry CARES is one way we live out that core value.

As we attend conferences and events, we conduct Mandry CARES giveaway drawings. The winners are able to select a charity and we make a donation on their behalf to that organization. In this case, the drawing conducted at the TORCH spring conference was for a $500 donation, which Willmann won and chose to contribute to LHM.

Mandry CARES contributions are not limited to conference giveaways. They are part of our DNA, and we are committed to integrating them into our operations where possible.

Our Why

Organizations like the Lindsey Horton Memorial Scholarship Fund inspire us to get to know our clients, their industries, and their communities. Those relationships are a vital piece of how we do what we do.

IT services are not limited to keeping the phones and internet running. They are tools that enable organizations to achieve their goals. Taking the time to learn what motivates our partner companies is critical to being able to craft a service that helps them meet their objectives. As such, Mandry CARES is not a catchphrase, an initiative, or a service offering. It is a simple truth, and we are grateful for every opportunity to show it.
