Is Cyber Security Awareness Month A Real Thing?
Recently it feels like everything is vying for a month or day of recognition, (we’re looking at you, National Lost Sock Memorial Day) but Cyber Security Awareness month is a real thing and no laughing matter. We are looking forward to kicking off the month at Becker’s 7th Annual Health IT + Digital Health + RCM Annual Meeting.
This year, the collaborators are focusing on four key behaviors that can help to improve your own cyber security.
- Enabling multi-factor authentication
- Using strong passwords and a password management software to secure your data
- Updating software
- Recognizing and reporting phishing
What is BECKER’S HEALTH IT + DIGITAL HEALTH + RCM ANNUAL MEETING?
The Annual meet up was created to facilitate conversations about the constant discourse and innovation that accompanies healthcare and technology and the ever-evolving relationship between the two. This year it will be hosted at Chicago’s famous Navy Pier.
The Healthcare field is one of many that is in constant need of cyber security risk and compliance assessment. Hospitals and clinics must take such great care in making sure that their patients’ private data is secure while being accessed by employees, so it shouldn’t come as a shock to most that many of those conversations found at Becker’s Health IT, + Digital Health + RCM Annual meeting would encompass those themes.
Will Mandry Technology be attending the Becker’s Health IT event?
'As an IT support company, Mandry Technology is dedicated to making sure our customers are prepared for any cyber threat. Conferences like these allow us to network and continue to evolve our own Cyber Risk Management systems to make sure we are at the forefront of cyber protection. Cyber security is anything but static, and the digital dangers are constantly evolving to overcome yesterday’s defenses. To ensure that your personal information is secure, the healthcare industry has compliance requirements. These compliance requirements are the first defense against cybercrimes, but just as criminals create new tactics to get at personal information, new compliance requirements must be adapted to ensure that frontline safety net is secure. Mandry plans on knowing about any changes to these requirements as soon as they are announced, and those conversations usually start here.
Becker’s Health IT + Digital Health + RMC Annual Meeting looks to be a great opener to Cyber Security Awareness month, and we are excited to be a part of it. If you’re in Chicago, come by and see us at Booth #114 we’d love to talk to you about you can be better prepared for tomorrows Cyber Risks, today.
